Tolosa's new Blend: Barrels and Art to benefit a local schools

Schiebelhut principal at Tolosa. Each artist was given a 60 gallon barrel to transform into their unique work of art. Each barrel will be a one of a kind original.
The barrels will be on display in the Tolosa Tasting Room from July 26th to November, 5th, 2008. There will be a gala dinner auction held at the winery on Friday November 7th, with legendary auctioneer Gil Stork as Master of Ceremonies. Guests will have a chance to mingle with the artists and bid on the individual art barrels. The elegant evening will be catered by the incomparable Maegen Loring and paired with Tolosas fine wines.
TEACh* Foundation (The Endowment for the Advancement of Children) was chosen as the beneficiary for the evenings proceeds. The timing for this funding for our local schools couldn’t be more fortuitous with the recent state wide budget cuts. The TEACh* Foundation goal is to build a permanent endowment that will directly be distributed to the San Luis Coastal Unified School District – the funds support all schools grades k-12 in San Luis Coastal Unified. “The money raised will go directly to the classroom, allowing students to participate in programs that they may not normally be able to receive,” Maria Slavin, TEACh Foundation President, said. “Our mission statement is, a quality education is a lifetime Gift .We hope the endowment will continue to grow even after we are a all long gone,” commented Ms.Slavin.
