2004 Chardonnay

Tasting Notes ~
Polished and balanced, the 2004 Estate Edna Ranch Chardonnay is laced with characteristic aromas of honeysuckle, tangerine, and lime blossom. Richly textured and balanced, the elegant oak tones do not dominate, but rather frame these crisp fruit and floral aromas.

2005 Sauvignon Blanc

Tasting Notes ~
Flamboyantly aromatic, showing a whole spectrum of exotic fruit, floral, and fresh herb notes; lime blossom, passionfruit, even lemon-thyme & cut basil. Rich fruitiness & balancing acidity, with layered flavors of kumquat, pineapple and kiwi. Hand-picked, gently whole-cluster pressed, and fermented cold in small stainless steel tanks; we selected only the most expressive lots for this bottling.

Food Pairing ~
Fresh Guacamole with Toasted Baguettes

2005 Pinot Gris

Tasting Notes ~
Resist the temptation to toss this wine into an ice bucket or bury it in the fridge; served too cold, the lovely aromatics may be obscured. Ten minutes of chill before service will nicely show off the subtle jasmine and lily aromas, while retaining a nice balance between crispness & richness. Lime, honeydew melon, and fig all flash across the palate, and on the finish there is a spicy hint of cardamom & nutmeg. Squarely in the refreshing ‘Pinot Grigio’ style, this is a fabulous food wine; try it with pasta salad, oysters, or pizzetta bianco.

Food Pairing ~
Thai Dishes with Curry Spices

2005 Rose of Syrah

Tasting Notes ~
82% Syrah, 15% Viognier, & 3% Grenache, whole-cluster pressed and cold fermented to retain aromatics. Bright hibiscus-pink hue, bursting with floral aromas & fruity flavors. Refreshingly crisp, with an impression of Ruby-Red grapefruit & orange peel on first sip. The strawberry / rhubarb character belies a completely dry finish. Make this stylish Rosé your first choice for picnics and backyard gatherings all summer long!

2004 Merlot
___________________________________________________________________________

Tasting Notes~
Splash into a decanter, pour a half inch into your best wine glasses, and settle in to watch the flavors slowly unwind. Bay leaf, cocoa, and plum reveal themselves first, followed by cassis, tobacco, and mint. On the palate, this is a big, generous wine. The tannins are youthful at this time, and will handle grilled steak, game, and pungent cheeses with aplomb. This is a Merlot that will stand several years’ cellaring, becoming more vinous and nuanced with age.

Food Pairing~
Grilled Steak or Pungent cheeses
