Mindego Ridge Vineyard 2021

Vintage Notes
2021 was an exceptional growing season that began with warm weather during flowering, followed by milder weather through the season. Grapes benefitted from this longer hang time, particularly after they reached twenty degrees. Brix and were harvested in late September with excellent phenolic development at lower alcohol levels.
Winemaking
After destemming and a three-day cold soak, fermentation was done in open top stainless-steel tanks at a range of warm and cool temperatures. Aged 11 months in 100% French oak with 41% new barrels.
Wine Profile
Nose: Black cherry and pomegranate fruit aromas are accented by notes of cocoa, lavender, tea, gravel, toast and dried leaves.
Palate: Medium-bodied, concentrated flavors of juicy blueberry, rhubarb, raspberry and plum, with notes of crushed rock, cherry cola and citrus that leads to a long, powerful finish.
