Saltonstall Pinot Noir
Saltonstall Vineyard is located in the Petaluma Gap, 30 miles north of San Francisco and 14 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The 40 acre hillside parcel rests in a bucolic landscape surrounded by dairy farms and sheep pasture. Soils are loamy clay with a touch of gravel settled on the clay.
Bright red cherry color. Aromas of starfruit, rose petals, graphite, tar, charred beef bark and green tobacco. Flavors of baked cranberry, orange rind and dried tobacco. This wine is well-structured with a velvety texture that evolves into showcasing notes of cranberry juice that allows the bright acidity to come through on the finish.
