Stone Lion Syrah 2020

Our 2020 Syrah is made from 97% Syrah and 3% Petite Sirah grapes primarily from the Salaal Vineyard in the Edna Valley AVA. Salaal, known for its compelling mix of rich clay and slightly rocky soils and slightly warmer growing conditions grows these later ripening red varieties exceptionally well. Rich notes of dark cherry compote, blackberry, and plum aromas jump first from the glass, backed by finer details of white pepper, leather, and mint. This Syrah has deep flavors of blackberry pie and ripe red plum accented by roasted chestnut, dark roast coffee, and spicy clove. A delightful pairing with Braised Lamb Shanks with Herb Salad.
