Toyon Farm is located in the southwest corner of Napa in the Carneros region. The Carneros region experiences morning fog and cool afternoon breezes from the San Pablo Bay (the northern extension of the San Francisco Bay). The vineyard is sloped and is southwest facing. It is divided by Clone 777 and Clone 115. The wines are cane-pruned and carry an average of 2-3 tons to the acre. The soil is sandy-clay loam with great water retention.
Black cherry color with a lavender rim. Aromas of maraschino cherries, crushed oyster shells, smoked paprika, cigar box and fresh baked cumin bread. Flavors of raw almond, cranberry, mineral notes of clay and worn leather on the finish. This wine is seamless with a freshness thanks to the bright acidity.
